Top 200 Wines and Spirits

The top 200 wines and spirits that Andreas has had the pleasure of tasting with TASTED 100% Blind has recently been updated on our website. You can check out the full list here (link to There are some incredible wines and the bar has been raised high. We have yet to reach the year mark of our newest concept for Tasted 100% Blind, but in our nine months, we have had the pleasure of working with great high quality wines and spirits. Most Sommeliers can be classified as being partial to a certain type of wine. If that is the case, Andreas is partial to wine or spirits with some complexity, balance and layers. Basically a well-made wine – but aren’t we all? Below are seven 94 point wines that highlight quality from different regions and styles. Which one do you want to taste first?

Clément – Rhum Vieux Agricole Vieilli en fûts de Chêne – 10 Years Old
France – Martinique – Rhum
94 Points
As the alcohol is well developed into a lot of dried fruit, candy, fine caramel, cedar wood. Really long and nutty aftertaste. Certainly a rhum I would prefer to drink as a digestive, not in a drink and with a good cigar.”

Sibona – Grappa XO Aged Cuvée
Italy – Piedmont – Grappa
94 Points
The wood is integrated and has also added some complexity to it. Really long finish; and here I can talk about some complexity, because there is a lot of spiciness going on in the end. It also really has a nice digestive effect.”

Clos Mogador – 2013
Spain – Catalunya – Priorat – Red
94 Points
“What I like here is we really have a high ripeness, inky dark berries, cassis and juicy blackberry. It is all underlined by a very bright acidity and that mineral sensation. Very long finish. Really layered very juicy, very long finish. Persistent with a lot of fine spiciness going on. Excellent balance.”

Parusso – Bussia Riserva 2006
Italy – Piedmont – Barolo – Red
94 Points
“There’s plenty of grip in terms of extract and tannin; the tannins are rounded though, they’re finely polished, finely grained. Then I get layers of that sweet unctuous red berry fruit with that fine spiciness. Very coherent, it really starts out with that elegance and it finishes off with that elegance.”

Champagne Leclerc Briant – La Croisette – Brut NV
France – Champagne – Brut – White
94 Points
I like this a lot actually, because you really get that mouthwatering sensation. It’s a quite full-bodied style, but I still think that the emphasis is on ripe high quality Chardonnay here; we get some nutty notes, almonds, with some of those buttery notes, but the finish is really zesty and bone-dry.”

Cupano - Ombrone 100 2011
Italy – Tuscany – Sant’Antimo – Red
94 Points
That’s bloody good actually! Very dense palate, lovely pure black fruit, cassis, slightly herb-infused with ripe herbs like mint, sage, sweet cassis, dark plum, really multilayered. It’s still youthful so it doesn’t really have a lot of complexity but it has layers, it has nuance, a very very long finish.

Bodega Norton – Privada 2012 – Mendoza
Argentina – Mendoza – Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon – Red
94 Points
Oak is finely integrated as well. Plenty of juicy and succulent dark fruit in this one. Long finish with a fine spiciness, a wine that will certainly gain more complexity from further cellaring, but it is drinking pretty well already right now.”
