Domaine Weinbach – Clos Des Capucins 2013
France – Alsace – Grand Cru Altenbourg – Gewürztraminer – White
89 Points
Overall the sensation is really nice freshness. Balanced alcohol, juicy and long finish with layers of that ripe pear, ripe apple with spicy notes. Overall a very good wine.”

PICCINI – VILLA AL CORTILE 2010
Italy – Tuscany – Brunello Di Montalcino - Red
87 Points
Good grip on the palate, quite full-bodied. Still in the youthful phase with quite grippy tannin there, quite marked tannin, with that dried spiciness going on there; I find almost like Christmas cake or gingerbread in terms of spiciness. Dried wood, cedar wood, discreet fruit.”

CHATEAU TOUR PEREY 2012
France – Bordeaux – Saint Emilion – Grand Cru – Red
89 Points
“Classic structure here, quite dense fruit with nice wild berry fruit like freshly crushed berries; blackberry, raspberry. Tannins are still pronounced but they’re ripe, they probably need some more time to fully dissolve. There’s a hint of oak, but not very present as well. Good freshness, pretty long finish.”

BETHANY – GR RESERVE SHIRAZ 2012
Australia – Barossa Valley – Shiraz - Red
91 Points
“I like that sensation of freshly crushed berries, like blackberry, sweet plum. Mild spiciness on the palate as well. So round and subtle with a nice juiciness. Quite a long finish, the wood has toned down. Mild acidity, but still with a notion of freshness and quite discreet wood. A lush wine with very fine drinkability right now.”

ENDRIZZI – GRAN MASETTO 2011
Italy – Trentino – Alto Adige / Sudtirol – Vigneti delle Dolomiti – Red
91 Points
Hmmm! Really good, this one. Very dense, still a youthful appearance, really really dense and concentrated, with layers of inky dark fruit like cassis, dark cherry, plum, we can go on with everything. We add some spice box to that, but I like the freshness we get here from some fresh herbs.”

DOÑA PAULA – 1350 2013
Argentina – Mendoza – Red
88 Points
Palate has a high density and concentration. Plenty of weight. Quite high extract, still youthful tannin, adding a slight dry touch to the mid-palate. There is a hint of sweetness as well, quite sweet fruit such as ripe blackberry, cassis.

PEJU – CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2012
United States – Napa Valley – Red
91 Points
In terms of flavour, we have those dark berries, dark cherry, cassis and plum. With some of that spiciness of anise seed, some herbal notes like sage and mint. Quite persistent finish. It is a high ripeness, but I think alcohol is in balance.”
