Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils – Grand Cru 2014
France – Burgundy – Chevalier Montrachet – White
“The toastiness is really elegant and integrated. Despite that generosity and fruitiness, I still think it keeps its innocence because it is just so pure and intense at the same time. Excellent bite and grip on the palate, really full-bodied.”

Château Moncontour – Nectar de Moncontour 2005
France – Loire Valley – Vouvray – White
“Bloody lushes on the palate, almost with a creamy texture. Layers of honey, yellow fruit, almond and nuts, a bit more of spiciness that has emerged. I think there is almost a hint of white truffle, both aromatically and on the taste. Tremendous, very hard to resist.”

Francesco Rinaldi & Figli – Cannubi 2011
Italy – Piedmont – Barolo – Serralunga D’Alba – Red
“Really good bite on the palate. Still pretty youthful. None the less, quite tempting. Sure there is a good presence of tannin there. Quite a high extract but I think that is part of the style. The tannins are ripe. It should easily start to soften within the coming few years.”
95 Points

Bodegas Roda – Cirsion 25° Aniversario 2012
Spain – Rioja – Tempranillo, Graciano – Red
“The palate has an amazing concentration but very soft extraction with powdery tannin, notes of cocoa bean, layers of dark fruit, certainly ripe and warm but with a good sense of freshness.”
95 Points

Dom Perignon Brut 2006
France – Champagne – White
“The palate has a very good grip, fine extract, bright freshness and layers of hazelnut, stone fruit, ripe citrus and a fine toastiness all along, rich and lingering finish with both persistency and a fine creaminess, a powerful example that is delicious now but should age tremendously.”
95 Points

Weingut Gunderloch – Nackenheim Rothenberg 2015
Germany – Rheinhessen – Trockenbeerenauslese – Riesling – Sweet
“Very intense nose of tropical fruit, tobacco leaf, saffron and black tea. Very unctuous and dense palate with intense sweetness, yet with a bright fresh backbone. Very unctuous and truly long finish, still young with a tremendous potential but quite tempting.”
95 Points

Weingut Wittmann – Morstein GG 2015
Germany – Rheinhessen – Riesling – White
“The nose offers a fine intensity and great purity, layers of ripe fruit. The palate combines a high concentration and very vigorous freshness, intense and lingering flavours, very grippy and persistent finish. Still young but remarkable stuffing and potential.”
