Best Wine of the World Cava

Best Wine of the World Cava

The temperature is rising, the air is sticky and you need a refreshing, cold, bubbly drink that will not affect your vacation savings. And so enters Cava. This sparkling wine is made in the same style as Champagne but with different varietals like Viura (or Macabeo), Xarel.lo, and Parellada. It is the perfect aperitif or accompanied with appetizers to desserts or just an after work drink.

Andreas believes that Cava is a very broad style. From quite light, pleasant, rather simple versions, to the best examples that stand out from the rest and show the same level of complexity as a good Champagne. Referring to the wines below, Andreas says “these Cavas have more complexity, character and balance. Particularly they have personality and character.”

The current highest rated Cava from Andreas comes from Agusti Torello Mata and their Gran Reserva 2009. We spoke to their Export Manager, Antonio Alvarez about his wine and their score. “Our Cava is the result of experience and quality commitment .We will never compromise quality in order to increase production. Part of our policy is the use of a sustainable agriculture and treating every bottle of Cava as our most important achievement. We have used Andrea’s score to support our export department and to promote our Cava. This is one of the best Gran Reserva Brut Nature in the market and we believe that it summarizes the way a Cava should be.”
