BOLLE – LA LICORNE BLANCHE 2013
Switzerland – Vaud – White
90 Points

However, the palate is very precise, bone-dry, crisp acidity, still very youthful tempering that opulence we have on the nose. It’s still a rather full style of white, bone-dry with a rather opulent texture. Finely balanced.”

DOMAINE DE LA GUILLOTERIE – TRADITION 2014
France – Loire Valley – Saumur Champigny – Cabernet Franc – Red
88 Points
Nice freshness, high acidity giving a lift to that dark those blackcurrant notes, red currants. With a slightly herbal spiciness, some notes of bouquet garni, and a slight pepperiness. I pick up no oak on the taste. Fresh and digest, with a medium weight. Quite long finish.”

AQUA DE VALDRONNE – EAU DE VIE DE VIN NV
France – Sud Ouest – Eau de vie
87 Points
“Quite pure nose, but there is a fruity element there that reminds me a little bit of fresh grapes, sweet plum, and some hints of lemon zest. Good attack on the palate.”

CLOS MOGADOR 2013
Spain – Catalunya – Priorat – Red
94 Points
“What I like here is we really have a high ripeness, inky dark berries, cassis and juicy blackberry. It is all underlined by a very bright acidity and that mineral sensation. Very long finish. Really layered very juicy, very long finish. Persistent with a lot of fine spiciness going on. Excellent balance.”

BODEGA DEL FIN DEL MUNDO – POSTALES DEL FIN DEL MUNDO 2014
Argentina – Patagonia – Neuquen – Cabernet Sauvignon – Malbec – Red
90 Points
Fine integration of wood, it is still slightly tannic, but that is something that will easily integrate within the coming one or two years I think. So not harsh by any means, I rather like the freshness arrived from the tannins and the acidity.”

DISTILLERIE PERONI MADDALENA – GRAPPA LUGANA INVECCHIATA  NV
Italy – Lombardy – Grappa
90 Points
It’s warm, it’s ripe; it has that certain roughness that you expect from grappa but I still think that this aging in oak has rounded it off nicely. It offers a quite nice texture and a good level of drinkability today. Cheers!”

CHATEAU DE COME 2012
France – Bordeaux – Saint Estèphe – Cabernet Sauvignon – Merlot – Red
89 Points
Good grip on the palate here. Rather full-bodied and quite rigid in terms of texture. I like it a lot because this is a wine that combines the dense fruitiness. Quite high level of tannin, but rather rounded and polished. I would say it is actually a quite good drinkability already.”
